What’s On

Many thanks to everyone who took part, and listened to our lovely Carol Singers!

Despite only singing to the village on one night (due to the weather), we still managed to raise in the region of £250 which is a terrific amount for the Ross Community Larder. Many thanks to everyone who sang, played, listened and donated, and invited us into your homes and pub to sing carols. Your kindness is much appreciated!

Village of Linton Trust (VoLT) present a Sunday Musical Afternoon Tea on Sunday 1st February at Linton Village Hall. Entertainment provided by ‘Fidgety Feet,’ a traditional jazz band.

5 Villages Film Festival 2026

Introducing a brand-new film festival run by rural communities, screening award-winning features and showcasing the next generation of local filmmakers.

The 5 Villages Film Festival is a brand-new event for 2026 that brings award-winning features and thought-provoking shorts by student filmmakers to rural communities across the Gloucestershire/Herefordshire borders, May Hill and Forest of Dean. It’s a chance for you, our audience to enjoy the best international cinema and hear powerful voices from a new generation of filmmakers, all in your local village hall.

The five villages hosting the 2026 festival are Clifford’s Mesne, Gorsley, Huntley, Linton and Pauntley. It’s an area that has served as the shoot location for films and TV series including Star Wars, Merlin, Dr Who, Sex Education and many more.

The 5 Villages Film Festival is proud to collaborate with students and staff from the University of Gloucestershire’s B.A. (Hons) in Film and TV Production. This new generation of screen talent is already shaping the film and TV landscape, from major cinema releases (Bohemian Rhapsody, James Bond, Indiana Jones) to acclaimed productions on Netflix (The Crown, Adolescence, Sex Education), BBC (Doctor Who), Apple TV (Slow Horses), Disney+, Amazon Prime, ITV and beyond.

Sarah McQuaid Friday 24th April 7.30pm with Arts Alive

– earlybird offer!

Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience.

Born in Spain, raised in Chicago and now settled in rural England, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation.

All this is abundantly demonstrated by her new live album The St Buryan Sessions — but needs to be savoured in person to be fully appreciated.
